KSAT is seeking a visionary and hands-on Lead Software Architect to guide the technical direction of our software systems within the Ground Network (GN) Products department. In this strategic role, you will be responsible for defining and executing a unified architectural vision that supports a growing portfolio of distributed software and hardware services operating KSAT’s global satellite ground station network.

You will play a dual role as both a systems architect and a technical leader, overseeing a group of experienced software team leads and engineers. Together, you will ensure our development practices, infrastructure, and system designs are cohesive, scalable, and aligned with both business goals and modern software principles.

Our ambition is to evolve our systems around API-first design, standardized services, and operational automation at global scale. To achieve this, we need someone who can bridge long-term architectural thinking with strong execution leadership.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be shaping the design of distributed systems that operate 24/7, integrating seamlessly with cloud environments, ground infrastructure, and customer-facing interfaces. Your focus will be to bring clarity and consistency to our architecture while also guiding DevOps strategy, enabling our teams to work efficiently, deliver high-quality services, and respond quickly to change.

Working closely with commercial stakeholders, and engineering teams, you will ensure that our software meets current operational needs and supports long-term growth. You’ll mentor engineers and team leads, contribute to roadmap planning, and champion architectural principles across departments.

Who You Are

You are an experienced software architect or senior technical leader with a deep understanding of distributed systems, cloud-native development, and DevOps principles. You’ve led cross-functional teams and are comfortable setting direction, supporting people, and engaging with non-technical stakeholders to align software development and engineering with strategy. You combine system-level thinking with a pragmatic mindset and understand that good architecture is ultimately about enabling teams to move fast without breaking things.

Preferred Experience

• 8–10+ years in software engineering, with experience in both architectural and leadership roles
• Proven ability to lead software design for complex, distributed, or integration-heavy systems
• Strong background in DevOps, including CI/CD, observability, and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, etc.)
• Familiarity with API-first design, service standardization, and automation at scale
• Experience in high-availability domains such as satellite operations, telecom, or critical infrastructure is a plus
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, coaching-oriented leadership style
