THE OPPORTUNITY
KSATlite’s platform orchestrates thousands of satellite contacts every day across a global ground network, reliably, automatically, and at scale. The software that makes this happen is built and owned by two small teams of experienced engineers who care deeply about what they ship.
We are looking for several Senior Software Developers to take key roles in designing, building, and operating the microservices and APIs that power KSATlite’s platform. We have openings for of our Assets & Scheduling domain, and for our Monitor & Control domain. In these roles, you will help set technical direction, lead initiatives from idea to production, and shape a pragmatic delivery culture where quality and speed coexist. This is hands-on engineering, you will be in the code, in architecture discussions, and in production.
The position can be based in Tromsø, Trondheim, or Oslo. Candidates must be eligible to obtain Norwegian security clearance.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Depending on the team you join, your responsibilities will include some or all of the following:
- Design and implement backend services with a focus on performance, security, and resilience
- Build and maintain Azure infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Assets & Scheduling: AKS, Container Apps, Functions, Service Bus, Event Hubs)
- Own and improve CI/CD pipelines
- Lead technical initiatives and contribute to architecture decisions
- Observability and SRE practices: logging, metrics, tracing, SLOs, and incident management
- Data modelling and service integrations
- Code reviews, test strategy, and continuous quality improvement
- Mentor and support other developers in the team
WHAT YOU BRING

5+ years of backend development experience in production environments

Strong proficiency in one or more systems-level languages:
-
Assets & Scheduling: primarily Kotlin and Rust; C#, Java, or C++ experience is relevant

Monitor & Control: primarily Go and Rust; Kotlin and Python experience is relevant

Solid understanding of distributed systems, API design, and event-driven architecture

Hands-on experience with cloud (Azure) and container orchestration (Docker, AKS, Container Apps)

Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code in a cloud environment

A security mindset: you think about production risks early, not as an afterthought

Good written and spoken English; Norwegian is an advantage
