At the end of the internship, you and your team will present your results to the wider KSAT community. It’s a chance to showcase your contributions, gain valuable feedback, and celebrate what you’ve accomplished. 

About you 

We are looking for curious and motivated students to join our summer internship program in 2026! If you’ve completed at least three years of higher education and want to dive into the fast-paced space technology sector, we would love to hear from you. We’re especially interested in candidates with skills in programming (Python or similar), and a background in fields like physics, data science, mathematics, cybernetics/robotics, electronics, data communication, remote sensing, GIS, space science, or satellite imagery (Optical or SAR). Experience with machine learning, modeling and simulation, or network optimization is a definite plus.

As an intern at KSAT, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of exciting tasks, such as: 

• Optimizing the utilization of KSATlite, our standardized global ground station network.   

• Exploring and implementing innovative methods for real-time anomaly detection, using techniques such as machine learning and signal processing.   

• Modeling and simulating antenna loading and system performance.   

• Forecasting potential orbital conflicts at ground stations to enhance scheduling efficiency and safety.   

• Automating daily operational tasks through tools like GitHub CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Actions, Ansible, and more.   

• Developing software and contributing to projects using languages such as Python and Rust.   

• Building and deploying cloud-based solutions on platforms such as AWS and Azure.

Practical information about the Internship: 

• The period of the internship is from June to August of 2026 in Tromsø. 

• Core working hours are between 9 and 15
