The role

As a System Engineer at KSATlite, you will contribute to the technical design, integration, and maintenance of systems for satellite communication across their full lifecycle. You will work on improving automation and control systems, support satellite launches, onboarding customers and configure baseband equipment. You will be part of a highly competent team covering a broad range of technical disciplines with a strong operational focus.

The position can be based in Tromsø or Oslo. Candidates must be eligible to obtain Norwegian security clearance, this is a firm requirement for the role.

Technical disciplines

What you bring

• A degree (Master level) in engineering, technology, physics, cybernetics, electronics, or a related field.
• Interest or experience in one or more of the technical disciplines listed above.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced operational environment where reliability matters.
• Good communication skills, you will work in an international team.
• A problem-solving mindset and a drive to improve and automate
• Familiarity with Linux administration

Nice to have

• Hands on experience with RF systems and signal chain troubleshooting
• Cloud platform experience – particularly around infrastructure, monitoring, deployments, or monitoring
• Familiar with infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible, AWX, or Terraform.

What you will do

• Contribute to the design, integration, and lifecycle maintenance of satellite communication systems
• Improve and maintain automation and control systems for ground operations
• Support satellite launches and on-orbit operations as part of an operational team
• Configure and maintain baseband and RF equipment
• Identify and implement improvements that increase reliability, efficiency, and throughput
• Collaborate closely with software developers, architects, and customer success teams
